No one should want your career more than you want it for yourself. In my years of representing clients, I found that if I want a client's success more than they do, then it inherently creates an unsuccessful endeavor. Many times, people have parents or families forcing them into this business. This only creates bitterness and resentment within personal or professional relationships that can spill over and negatively impact the future of the intended career. Even in manager-client endeavors, an imbalance can happen if the manager is working harder than the client. It is you, the client, who needs to have the passion, drive, and dedication to want to make it happen. This constant effort will only create a consistency that generates the flow of energy to bring about your success.
Moral: If you find a manager who wants your success more than you do, then there's already a problem. Make sure it's your passion that fuels you to want your success the most!
